Just A Schmear

Oh yeah, we're going there.

Being approximately six years behind schedule, I did it. I went for the TOTAL physical. My labs were all good. And THE test came back perfect, no problems. Hallelujah, thank you Jesus and God bless all the orphans in Africa. I have a mammogram (first ever) in three weeks. Will post a picture of a waffle iron to share that experience.

But, get this, I got a UTI! I have always prided myself on my urinary health. I am not entirely convinced it's a for-real one but my doctor showed me the leukocytes and trace blood in the urinalysis so I'll take her word for it. I am symptom free although now that she has told me there's something cooking down there, I swear to you I am having some vague pain. Anyway, on the Cipro I go which is good as it is the only effective antibiotic for anthrax so I feel extra protected.

Anyway, to any gentlemen unfortunate enough to stumble upon this blog, I apologize. Just be happy I couldn't find the picture of my sister and I (fully clothed) in the stirrups at the hospital. I think we made my mom a Christmas ornament out of that one.

And in general, Margie; you may now get off my back for three years!

P.S. I intentionally told Margie I was in need of a check-up knowing she'd ride me until I gave up and had the thing to make her go away. That's love.

Oh Man! I got this mental picture of that ornament and almost spit out my coffee! I too need to get in for my girly doctor appointment. I used to always do it in September (my birthday gift to myself, my taste in gifts leaves a lot to be desired don't you think?) When my MIL died in 2006, I had to cancel my appointment and I have been off track since! I also would schedule my mammogram in March, 6 months later figuring I was getting a physical check as well as an imaging roughly 2x a year. Yeah, that's off track now too!

I've had a mammogram. It's just one more reason that I despise being small chested....they've really gotta work on it to get it in there, to press it and smash it into a pancake! I literally had bruises on my skin where they smashed my ribs! Owww!!

There is one good thing in having majorly sagging boobs from much weight loss...they're so much easier to smash in the 'waffle maker'.

I can't believe you've never had a mammogram....good for Margie for riding your butt!!

And you crack me up! Thanks for the laughs!

And to think that all I asked for was a picture of the two of you at work at the hospital. I should be more specific when I make a request.

Lol. After reading your post, I know you will appreciate this email I sent recently to a friend who was asking about several test results..."My eyes are ok. Now, just waiting to see if my boobs, my cervix, and my gall bladder are fine."

I am in full agreement with Stacy ... being small chebreasted (new word) is indeed a pain when it comes to mammo's.

You are a NURSE Thara and of all people you know the import-tance of reglar chek-ups. Stay on her case Margie. We so need Thara around for a long, long time.
