I Remember...

Psalm 77:11
I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago.

A few years ago having finished nursing school I finally had my "off hours" back. I could read for leisure instead of study, take a nap or watch old movies. All of which I embraced with joy and continue to pursue like it's a career.
I also rediscovered a simple pleasure, writing. It's always come easily to me, I'll leave it to the reader to decide if it's a worthy endeavor or simply a self-centered indulgence. Either way, I write.
With this extra time to do with as I pleased and the new miracle of the personal computer (new to this house at least since we could finally afford one); I dove back into writing as I never had. As a means to remember, explore and just express.
I wrote a series of essays then about my childhood and my thoughts and sent them in e mail form to my mom. As always, she decided they were genius and passed them on in print to those who lacked a computer. With her encouragement and a few others I decided to launch this blog thing.
So this week, let me forewarn you, I'll be posting those original essays where I rediscovered myself and a passion to write for the joy of it. They are a little lengthy and entirely self-absorbed. If there's a spiritual lesson in any of it; it's just that God loved a little girl and gave her a sweet life. There are no daily scripture post scripts. If you find it all a bit mundane and choose to give your time to better pursuits, I understand.
This blog has given me a community of fellowship and a safe place to be as silly, weak and ridiculous as I need to be. I thank you.
Before the days of blogs and computers though, there was a life that was simpler and richly textured. I'd love for you to share your past with us, your blog family, too.
Starting tomorrow, maybe we can all look back at lives held in the grip of grace before we knew how to name it and say...
I remember.
